Overview

With support from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture, LAND studio created Studio to the Street: a workshop series providing local artists with the tools to successfully apply for, plan, and implement public art projects.

2023 Workshop

In the summer of 2023, Toco-oco arrived in Cleveland from Brazil to deliver a talk about their creative process, work, and sources of inspiration for new work. LAND studio provided this workshop as a unique opportunity for local artists to network and gain insights from an international artists duo.

2019 Workshops

The inaugural workshops were held in the fall of 2019. Each two-day session featured a national guest artist and local artist experts. Brooklyn-based artist Olalekan (LEk) Jeyifous participated in the first workshop, and Chiaozza, an artist duo from New York, participated in the second. In total, over 145 participants attended the events.

In addition to covering several topics regarding the public art process, participants were able to watch a mock jury deliberation unfold in real-time. At each workshop, community members, planners, and community development officials were asked to judge between several proposed artworks to give guests an in-depth glimpse into what it would look like to participate in a call for artists.

Both days covered important topics that I appreciated. Thanks for the amazing event. It is wild to see the depth and diversity of Clevelanders engaged in public art.
