In the spring of 2021, LAND studio proudly selected artist Alexandria Couch to showcase her work on The Art Wall, a rotating art space on Public Square. Each quarter, a new local artist is picked to transform our cityscape, enriching it with creativity.

About the Art

This piece, titled Where We Meet in the Middle, is inspired by cultural traditions throughout the African Diaspora. Twisting and braiding is a labor of love often passed down through families and re-imagined through current trends. These conventions meet in the middle, forming an intersection of history and the future based on self-love and love for the traditions we hold dear.
