Overview

Join us for Pink Smoke Rising, the third annual Resident Exhibition from Feverdream and the first collaboration between Feverdream and LAND studio.

Hosted in the Charlotte Lees Gallery at LAND studio, the exhibition features new work by Feverdream's 2025 artists-in-residence: Jules Briggs, Crystal Miller, and Danielle Muzina.

About the Residency

Founded in August 2022, feverdream is an emerging nonprofit arts organization. The first to launch, and still the hallmark program of feverdream, is the artist residency. The aim of this program is to offer promising artists an opportunity to focus exclusively on their craft by providing resources and a creative workspace conducive to these endeavors. The residency program continues to evolve with ambitious international aspirations. As of August 15th of this year, feverdream has concluded its time with their ninth artist resident. At present, however, and in addition to facilitating artist's work, feverdream has increased its artist's opportunities for critique and constructive feedback from peers and mentors, and developed a virtual gallery platform meant for providing increased artist exposure through public curation efforts. Under the current program each resident has a piece of their work featured in a mural scale on the side of the shoreway building in a highly visible location at the entrance to Edgewater Park. Additionally, the resident's work is featured in the annual resident show, which is an anthology show showing distinct groupings of each resident from the past year. The residents play an active role in conceiving of the joint show, marketing and creating awareness. This year the latest three residents have concocted Pink Smoke Rising.

About the Show

Pink Smoke Rising is a show that showcases the world building of Jules Briggs, Crystal Miller, and Danielle Mužina. Each artist during their stay in our Tremont studio independently explored other realities. Jules found herself entrenched in revisiting fantasy stories from our childhoods. Crystal presents elements of Afrofuturism in her work: where science fiction and futuristic themes incorporate moments of Black history and culture. Danielle creates a body of work filled with pink portals to other realities that call upon the viewers relationship to community. The title Pink Smoke Rising walks a line of optimism and warning. It conjures the image of a beautiful pink ephemeral moment levitating above chaos. Because we all know: where there’s smoke there’s fire. Enjoy.
