The new Euclid Beach park would integrate some of the old, especially the Euclid Beach Arch, with a new pier and playground.
It’ll be a far different landscape than the old Euclid Beach. Around the turn of the last century, it was an amusement park with a carousel, roller coasters and a bathhouse.  It also was segregated, the scene of protests and, like a lot of parks of the era, closed in the late 1960s.  
Joel Wimbiscus is from LAND studio, one of the design firms working on Euclid Beach’s rebirth. He says one thing he likes most about the new proposal is that the neighborhood had a say in the project.
 “A plan that responds to what the neighborhood needs and wants, and also helps the neighborhood dream about new things, about new ways to approach this park. And so I think there’s a nice balance cause if you look at it, there’s a portion of this plan that pays homage to park’s rich history. The plan also allows the park, itself, to move forward and embrace new opportunities to make it an increased amenity for the neighborhood and for the region.
Wimbiscus says the  project will not necessarily be completed all at once because it depends on funding.
