Inner City Hues was initially conceived by a project team made up of artists, residents, business owners, and community activists as a collaborative arts project highlighting artists residing in Cleveland’s eastside. It is a platform that showcases powerful neighborhood-driven artwork, authentic community engagement, and culturally relevant programming.

Over a dozen artists were involved in working with residents and community stakeholders in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing public art installations on buildings located on Buckeye Road in Buckeye-Shaker and Kinsman Road in Mt. Pleasant.

In addition to creating visual artwork along these key commercial corridors, participating artists interacted with community members through a variety of workshops, block parties and vendor events at schools, libraries, cultural and community centers located throughout the greater Buckeye area.
