Free App, Sponsored by PNC, Allows Community, Visitors to Explore Beauty of Cleveland’s Neighborhoods

CLEVELAND, April 7, 2022 − LAND studio has announced the debut of a new app, The City is Our Museum, that will promote the exploration of Cleveland’s expansive public art and public spaces.

The free app, available to download from the Apple Store and Google Play, is based upon the success of a social media campaign launched during the pandemic. It features several self-guided neighborhood tours as an opportunity for Clevelanders to explore their city this spring and summer. The vision for the app is to connect residents and visitors to Cleveland’s ever-expanding public art collection, highlighting the beauty in the city’s neighborhoods, as well as include other notable sites related to the city’s history and infrastructure that residents might explore.

“We are not only excited to share this app with our community and visitors to Cleveland, but we are excited about the opportunity to shine a much deserved light on Cleveland’s incredible public art scene, and the talented artists that have created it,” said LAND studio Executive Director Greg Peckham.

The City Is Our Museum app, sponsored by PNC Bank, will unveil five tours at its debut, with plans to add additional neighborhood tours through the summer. Available now are tours of Buckeye Shaker, the central downtown district, the near west side, MidTown, and the Cleveland Walls! mural festival. Within the app, users will learn about the art they’re seeing, the artist that created it, opportunities to follow those artists on social, and even media clips associated with the piece.
