From the Artist

Reader’s Garden is a reading porch that turns the library inside out. This outdoor library replicates library functions beyond the walls, blurring the lines between community and civic institutions while providing a new venue for inspiration. Comprising vibrant "book modules" of varying sizes, each painted in diverse colors, these modules function as seating for the community and poetry recital platforms for the readers.

The texts on the book modules display the book titles and names of authors from Shaker Heights and Cleveland region, inspiring visitors to explore stories. The text of books can be repainted, allowing the community to make decisions and change which books to display through curating at specific time frames.
