Derin Fletcher

Overview

I am a native of Akron, Ohio. I began seriously creating art my junior year of High School. It was then that I decided art was what I was truly passionated about and went on to art school after graduation. I attended the Savannah College of Art and Design and moved to Cleveland after receiving my BFA in 2014.

Since returning to Ohio, I've been teaching and mentoring high school students. My love for the community inevitably manifests itself into my artwork. With each piece, I aim to create something that inspires others, and as I enter into the final semester of my MFA journey, I hope to be able to continue to encourage and inspire others to push forward and follow their passions no matter what circumstances may be holding them back.

LAND studio creates places and fosters equitable communities in Cleveland through transformative public art, innovative design, collaborative planning, dynamic programming, and creative placemaking.

Our vision is to make Cleveland a city filled with vibrant, textured places that unite, inspire, and enrich its people.
